The Common Interest Community Board ("CICB") is part of the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation. Virginia property owners associations and condominium associations are required to register and to file annual reports with the CICB. In addition, the CICB regulates common interest community managers and certain employees of licensed management companies.
The Common Interest Community Ombudsman is also a part of the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation but is separate from the CICB. The Ombudsman's office provides assistance to members of property owners associations and condominium associations regarding the rights and processes available to them through their associations.
